When the Lebanese financial crisis struck, millions of citizens lost access to their life savings almost overnight. Families across the country suddenly relied on financial support from loved ones abroad to survive. But even those remittances were burdened by excessive fees, hidden charges, lack of transparency, and constant delays, adding stress to an already fragile reality.


Our founders, Jean-Marie and Wissam, lived this experience personally. Like so many others, they faced the frustration of trying to send money home securely, only to encounter the same broken systems. They knew the solution wouldn’t come from the institutions that created the problem, so they built one themselves.


Purpl was born from that urgency: a simpler, safer, and more transparent way to move money to Lebanon. More than just a financial tool, it became a bridge reconnecting families, restoring trust, and helping people regain a sense of control during a time of chaos.
